The Farnborough International Airshow Is Set to Take Off in July

Scheduled to run from the 18th to the 22nd of July, the 2022 edition of the Farnborough International Airshow is set to be one of the aviation industry's most well-attended events in the UK this year. The 2022 airshow marks a return of the event in a physical format for the first time in three years because the last two editions have been held online only. As such, it is the first time many professionals in the aerospace and defence industries will have had to connect to one another in person at a major global trade show.

Associated by many with the early days of aviation, Farnborough has a rich history. Indeed, it has been hosting the UK's premier international airshow since 1948. Today, the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre offers trade visitors a modern setting that is geared up for an international audience. This year's airshow, FIA2022, is primarily for trade visitors. However, the public can also register to visit on the final day of the show. Thematically, the event has been split into no fewer than six industrial areas including space, defence, innovation and workforce. In addition, FIA2022 will focus on sustainability within the aviation sector and offer a platform to talk about future flight technologies including displays of advanced air mobility systems. Note that the Airline Leaders Summit will be staged during this year's airshow, too.

Along with two dedicated zones at the show for both research and development as well as aerospace, FIA2022 will feature its famous flying display. Running alongside the trade show, this display will showcase some of the best in commercial and military aviation designs today. The ground around Farnborough makes it ideal for viewing aircraft being put through their paces, so this year's display is likely to be a big draw.

The Aerospace Global Forum is a newly launched feature of FIA2022. It is designed to provide a unique global platform for all those who are involved in aerospace technologies today to drive immediate action on sustainable flying. The idea is that the forum will help the industry as a whole to accelerate its transition to Net Zero. Panel sessions, Q&A sessions, unpacking sessions, and numerous other networking opportunities can be obtained by registering for the forum but attendees should note that a separate registration procedure is required for this part of the show over and above the usual FIA daily pass system.
