Cannes Yachting Festival Set to Impress

To be staged from 6th to 11th September 2022, the much anticipated Cannes Yachting Festival will offer the chance for some 50,000 expected attendees to view a wide range of yachting crafts from five to 45 meters in length. Catering for a luxury audience, the Cannes Yachting Festival is a trade show that actually takes place in two locations, Cannes' historic Vieux Port and the nearby Port Canto, both bustling marinas. The location for the exhibition on the Côte d’Azur attracts visitors from across Europe and beyond to see the very best examples of modern yacht designs as well as more traditional sailing boats and catamarans.

In accordance with French law, this year's edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival will no longer require attendees to have a vaccine pass as has been the case for the last couple of years. This is in keeping with the organizers' intention of attracting attendees from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just the well-heeled super-yacht set who are interested in the largest vessels. That's part of the reason why both sailing and motorboats will feature at this year's show along with monohull and multi-hull vessels in both rigid and semi-rigid hull designs.

Given that the Cannes Yachting Festival bills itself as an inclusive event, attendees should nevertheless not be surprised to discover that luxurious elements of the show will continue to feature. Of particular interest to many is likely to be the Luxury Gallery, a space dedicated to crafts, deluxe boating products and luxuriant lifestyles. Situated inside the Palais des Festivals, close to the Vieux Port, this space will include exhibitors from outside the yachting world - such as luxury watchmakers, jewelry designers and household linen manufacturers, for example – as well as nautical brands.

Among the many yachting exhibits that attendees will be able to see close up are items like aluminum furling booms, multifunctional gangways, carbon masts, marine generators and a host of other gadgets. A raft of different motorboat and sailing boat manufacturers will be exhibiting at the festival, too, many offering onboard experiences to potential clients. There again, attendees might like to head to the Innovation Village, a part of the festival where up-and-coming innovators will be exhibiting the very latest in nautical technologies. A big part of this year's festival is highlighting eco-responsibility in yachting, something that visitors will discover in the Green Route part of the show.
