Seawork Set For In-Person Event in June

Although the online version of Seawork, one of the leading marine-based exhibitions in the world, runs throughout the year, an in-person version of the trade fair will head to Southampton this summer. Set to take place from 21st to 23rd June, Seawork 2022 will bring together many of the most notable marine engineering firms, contractors, suppliers and other interested parties from the private and public sectors. Often referred to as a 'one-stop shop' for buyers with an interest in harbor technologies and marine infrastructures, Seawork aims to provide direct access to the biggest names in the commercial marine and workboat markets.

Seawork 2022 will constitute the premier commercial marine exhibition to be staged in Europe in recent years. This summer's event will be held at the renowned Mayflower Park in Southampton, Hampshire. Despite some disruption to the way in which the trade fair has been able to operate in recent years - largely due to the global healthcare emergency – this will be the 23rd iteration of the exhibition. Mayflower Park provides 15,000 square meters of stalls and installations under one roof while its adjacent quayside will be set aside for both large exhibits as well as some outdoor marine demonstrations. Historically, Seawork has attracted over 600 exhibitors and something approaching 8,000 attendees from all over the globe. The 2022 version of the trade show looks set to be no different and could even top these numbers. More than 70 vessels will even be available for demonstrations on the water!

Marine Civils, a leading marine civil engineering trade fair, will run alongside Seawork this year. Conservation specialists, port authorities and civil engineering firms will come together to augment the expo. Thus far, some 179 exhibitors have been booked for this part of the event alone with more that are expected to register in the run-up to the expo.

As the latest sector-specific feature of Seawork, SPEED is also bound to attract attention. It will indeed turn the spotlight on high speed vessels operating for security interventions and Search And Rescue. Expect to gain strategic insight into new solutions for propulsion, navigation, communications and care of the crew.

Currently confirmed exhibitors include Seakeeper, Spyderco and Sea Machines, all US-based companies, as well as Propspeed and Baird Maritime from New Zealand and Australia respectively. Other international exhibitors include Neander Shark and Torqeedo from Germany, Marine Jet Power and Caldaro from Sweden and HS Marine from Italy, among others. This exciting event, which will also host this year's European Commercial Marine Awards, is already taking registrations from people intending on going.

Speakers who will be addressing the conference in an on-demand format include Peter Crossland of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association and Jane Thornback, the Sustainability Policy Advisor at the Construction Products Association. In-person speakers will include Shep Smith, the Chief Technology Officer at XOCEAN, and Robin Saunders of Chartwell Marine. Seawork 2022 will also feature a number of business briefings, as well.
