Yachting Festival: the world’s most eclectic trade-show in Cannes

After the restrictions caused by the global pandemic led to the cancellation of the 2020 event, the Cannes Yachting Festival will return from 7th - 12th September 2021.

Now in its 44th year, the Cannes boat show is held in the gorgeous French city each September and showcases nearly 600 prestigious boats, including superyachts, motor yachts, catamarans, and sailing yachts.

The in-water show held in the Bay of Cannes occurs in the city's two ports; the Port Pierre Canto and the Vieux Port.

What are the latest events at the Cannes Yachting Festival?

There has been a change of layout intended to create extra berthing. All the sailing yachts are now showcased in Port Canto, while motorboats are left to fill the space at the original Vieux Port harbour.

The two sites are connected by frequent sea and bus shuttle services leaving every quarter of an hour – these are free to visitors with show tickets.

Which boats are expected to be the stars of the Cannes Yachting Festival?

As the 2021 Dusseldorf boat show has been cancelled, this year's Cannes Yachting Festival promises an impressive fleet of 450 motor yachts along with 115 sailboats.

Highlights include:

The Bavaria C38, a gorgeous yacht that combines optimal sailing characteristics, easy handling and clever use of the inside space.

And the Sessa C47 will not fail to catch your eye with its sporty lines and sleek interior. With three cabins and two bathrooms, this new model features a unique crystal door that divides the cockpit from the saloon.

The Invictus Capoforte SX200 is a great boat for families, as well as young enthusiasts who want to enjoy boating without a massive financial outlay but also demand a boat that looks good and is full of fun.

And Sunseeker is excited to introduce the new Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht; taking this beauty on the water has been compared to driving a high-performance convertible supercar.

How can I travel to the Cannes Yachting Festival?

From Nice airport, take a shuttle bus straight to Cannes, or the 200 and 210 buses. If you opt to take a taxi, it will cost about €50. If you plan to travel in style, why not book an Azur Hélicoptère flight which takes you from Nice to Cannes in under ten minutes for approximately €500.

Accommodation during the Cannes Yachting Festival

Cannes has a wide range of accommodation from luxurious hotels to cheaper Air B and Bs; there is something to suit all budgets. Don't forget to book in advance as the city is bustling during the boat show.
