The world's leading professional trade show for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machinery, construction vehicles and equipment – bauma – is due to be staged from 24th to 30th October later this year. The 2022 edition of bauma will cover some 200,00 square meters of exhibition space and is expected to offer a platform for over 3,000 exhibitors from dozens of countries to showcase their products and services. As the number one trade fair of its kind featuring lots of heavy machinery, bauma also makes significant use of outdoor spaces to augment the main part of the show inside.
In 2022, bauma will feature five areas of discussion which will constitute its principal themes. The hot topics that bauma's organizers want to highlight include the construction materials and methods of tomorrow as well as the digital construction site. Alongside these future-focussed areas, this year's bauma will also have three areas of discussion surrounding greater sustainability. These will be the use of autonomous machines, the way to zero emissions and a special discussion about mining and sustainable practices. The last of these has been designated TALK 4 and will deal with matters such as environmental compatibility and recultivation at the bauma FORUM.
Among the exhibits, attendees can expect to be addressed by some leading names in the building and mining machinery sector. The Innovation Hall has been set aside for a series of lectures and round table discussions. However, bauma isn't all about talk and there will also be a series of live demonstrations on offer. This is a much more hands-on way for visitors to get to know the latest in technological developments in the industry. Practical demonstrations will take place inside and outside with a schedule that runs over the entire six-day trade fair.
Two areas of particular interest worth mentioning are bauma's new start-up arena and its science hub. The former is aimed at bringing attendees up to speed with the very latest innovations in the sector from start-up enterprises that have new ideas about how the industry of tomorrow will work. The latter doesn't just aim to focus on new scientific research programmes but also on how universities and other partners can help the industry to build and maintain networks by establishing more scientific project partnerships. As such, visitors will be able to learn a great deal from the show.
