Designer Christian Troels on Lucie Kaas’ World Refugee Day Initiative

Ahead of World Refugee Day, Danish design company Lucie Kaas initiated a digital campaign in which renowned designers were asked to reflect on the plight of 79.5 M refugees who were forced to flee their homes. Floating community

The innovative floating residential space known as Schoonschip Amsterdam by Space&Matter is presently under construction, and completion is expected this year. Moreover, 3D Digital Twin modelling will allow the concept of the open-source Schoonschip to be scaled up for wider use.
Each resident was able to design their own home working with their own choice of architect. This led to a wide range of styles, materials, and buildings in the neighbourhood. Climate change may pose a real threat to coastal cities, but the accomplishments of unique communities such as Schooknschip Amsterdam give a sense of hope. Read the full article here.
