The 2023 edition of Salone del Mobile, the premier furniture and interior design trade fair in Italy, will take place from April 18th to 23rd.
Aimed at all professionals in interior decorating, household object design and furniture, the trade fair is the largest of its type globally attracting a global audience of both in-person attendees. The exhibition is considered by many professionals to be unmissable since it tends to set the trends in interior design for the coming months with numerous product ideas on show.
Visiting Salone del Mobile
The trade show is arranged over some 230,000 square meters so there are plenty of stalls and exhibitors to explore! Typically, there are some 2,500 different exhibitors with a presence at the Salone del Mobile and this year looks set to be no exception. Overall, visitors should expect to be among the quarter of a million or so attendees who typically turn up for the show drawn from around 150 or so countries.
Exhibitions at This Year's Trade Fair
There are a number of special exhibitions that have been organized for the 2023 staging of the Salone del Mobile. Tempting people who've not visited for a few years as well as complete newcomers in the furniture industry, this year's main event will be headlined by the so-called Salone Internazionale del Mobile which aims to serve as a 'cross-pollination' platform for international companies and designers to discuss trends and ideas.
Elsewhere, visitors will be able to see Workplace 3.0, a part of the trade show that is dedicated to design technology that can lead to improvements in the working environment. There again, some exhibition spaces are set aside for specific room designs and product innovations. A good example of this is the International Bathroom Exhibition which will run for the eighth time at this year's trade show.
The Salone del Mobile in 2023
Although there will be many aspects of this year's exhibition that will be familiar, there will be some new elements to get to know as well. According to the show's organizers, a substantial amount of effort has gone into creating a new trade fair experience with a renewed layout for exhibitors, among other innovations. In addition, this year's trade show will include Euroluce which only runs biannually. Four specially darkened pavilions have been set aside for Euroluce, focussing on lighting design, interior lighting architecture and the lit urban environment.
