In Flint, USA, a small hospital has been included in the top 250 most innovative medical centres globally for its use of inventive technology to make patient care safer, better, and more efficient.

With only 400 inpatient beds, Hurley Medical Center was recently named as the smartest hospital in Michigan, USA. Dr Michael Roebuck, Chief Medical Information Officer at the centre, said the accolade came was a pleasant surprise. He explained that the hospital was particularly honoured to be given the award as the size of the hospital means that it lacks the financial resources of other major healthcare institutions also on the list.
