WHY CHOOSE DIRECTINDUSTRY OVER OTHER MAJOR SPECIALIZED MARKETPLACES

Looking to conquer new markets, SunUs Tech conducted a serious market watch. As a result, they decided to join the ranks of manufacturers on the DirectIndustry marketplace. Tony Chang, Marketing Specialist at SunUs Tech, comments on the selection process.

“With the need to expand our business to Europe, we did extensive research on a variety of B2B platforms: Alibaba, Global Sources, Europages, Tradekey and so forth.”

He explains that, due to their hegemony, some platforms have no difficulty convincing sellers on a wide scale to sell their products through them. However, for him, the lack of a serious selection of sellers makes the quality of showcased products questionable.

“What is more, these platforms do not provide any informational filters to exclude unmatchable criteria. Unlike for non-mechanical products, we do not simply check the reliability for the online transactions or the longevity of the sellers on the platform. When it comes to selecting the right planetary gear reducer, many factors come into play such as ratio, torque, shaft orientation, rotational speed, backlash, and so forth. None of these B2B platforms is as specific in attributes as DirectIndustry. This is why I did not choose the aforementioned platforms. They do not deliver enough practical information to their users, decreasing their reliability as B2B platforms.”

Since B2B buyers source 60 to 90% of product information alone before contacting companies, DirectIndustry’s product stands were actually developed to provide all the technical specs buyers need up front.

“Above all, Directindustry is the marketplace that engages with European customers the most. Before joining DirectIndustry, we had difficulty promoting our brand name in Europe because of the distance and brand equity. Trade shows not only take time and effort to prepare, but they are also costly and the heavy reliance on trade shows for promotion is limited by their short period of exposure. Thus, we channeled some of our resources into virtual promotion. We wanted to tap into the European market and the starting point we chose was DirectIndustry.”

“Our leads increased by 150% and 50 requests were made in a year. This indicates how much we gained in views from key decision-makers (procurement and R&D specialists) in managerial positions. In order to fine-tune SunUs Tech’s marketing strategy, the collaborative process with DirectIndustry was essential.

“Leads and requests are indicators to measure how successful we are in promotion. In the beginning, we set our target for leads. The more potential customers see and view our profile, the better our chances of receiving queries. After a while, we had regular discussions with our DirectIndustry Account Manager to ensure we received some quality requests. To optimize our profile, we added some missing elements, such as the contact details of our Regional Manager, as well as our pricing ranges. We also purchased a marketplace banner and newsletter to promote our brand name effectively. We were advised to remain in close contact with our Account Manager. If there is a glitch, our Account Manager helps to swiftly solve the issue.
As we will attend the Hannover Messe 2025, we look forward to walking hand in hand with DirectIndustry for business growth.”
